Major life sciences campus coming to Maryland

A new 500,000 square-foot life science campus is being planned for Frederick County.

With two 100,000 square-foot research and development labs; two additional 145,000 square-foot production buildings; co-working space; conference rooms; and more, The Labs at Jefferson Tech Park will provide in demand, state-of-the-art space for life science companies looking to locate along the I-270 corridor.

The campus – which aims to be the “premier biodiscovery campus” in the county – is also expected to host numerous fitness and walking trails, outdoor green space, a cafe, and plenty of parking.

The Jefferson Technology Park project, being planned by Trammell Crow Company (TCC) and Principal Real Estate Investors, is scheduled to begin construction later this year, with a completion date of late 2023.

“Not just a one-off building opportunity development, Trammell Crow’s Labs at Jefferson Tech Park will reflect a true life sciences ecosystem in support for R&D and biomanufacturing product that is desperately needed,” said Frank C. Graybeal of CBRE, who is assisting with leasing the development with Kevin Reap. “Offering approximately half a million square feet in a campus environment, this project will be quite special not only for Frederick, but for the entire region.”
