The SEED School of MD STEM Career Day

The SEED School of MD inaugural STEM Career Day! Be a part of this special day that will introduce students to skills and careers in STEM and Cyber Security on November 19, 2020 from 8:00AM – 2:00PM.
The event will include a keynote address, breakout sessions, career panel, cyber security competition, design challenge, and more!

The InfoArmor Cyber Lab
A local family made the lead donation to construct a Cyber Lab and STEM space in our academic building. With construction recently completed, we look forward to welcoming our students back to campus (in a hybrid model) to introduce them to the new space, and the innumerable educational and experiential opportunities that come with it. We hired a Cyber Lab Director and have a short list of finalists for an Instructional Technology Coordinator. On Thursday, November 19th we will host our inaugural STEM Career Day! This day will provide our students with exposure to industry professionals as well as opportunities to create, compete, and collaborate! We have many opportunities for the MD Tech Council Members to be involved. Please let us know if you can help with any of the following:
- (3) Prizes for students that win the Business Pitch Competition: We would like to giveaway either new laptops (either Alienware or Microsoft Surface Laptop Go), or Amazon Gift cards ($100-$250 each)
- Judges to sit on a Business Pitch Competition panel: This will require 60-90 minutes of your time via Zoom! The audience will be watching as our 3 finalists pitch their STEM business idea to our judges…think Shark Tank but much friendlier! (Dolphin Tank?)
- Sponsors: If you are willing to sponsor this special day, or willing to connect us to organizations that have an interest in supporting STEM education for low-income students, we need your help!
