Join us for the next Project Management Night Out seminar at Rosenstock Hall, Hood College.

This event costs $20 per person and qualifies for 1 PDU. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served during the networking hour preceding the seminar, which will start at 7 p.m.

Abstract

Omega Tawonezvi, PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, will examine the challenges of managing development projects in resource-constrained environments, with a particular focus on women’s agricultural and entrepreneurship initiatives in Sierra Leone. The session will analyze how limited funding, infrastructure gaps, and institutional fragility impact project execution, and will demonstrate how adaptive strategies and PMP tools enable project managers to deliver meaningful outcomes despite severe resource limitations.

Bio

Omega Tawonezvi is a Doctoral (DBA) student at Hood College and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP). She brings over a decade of experience leading projects across non-profit, government, and private sectors, specializing in managing initiatives within resource-constrained and complex environments.

She currently serves as the Executive Director of Immigrant Community Services, Inc., a Maryland-based nonprofit that empowers vulnerable populations through economic development and community health programs. Her professional background also includes contract administration for multimillion-dollar U.S. government programs and international development consulting, where she has implemented women-focused agricultural and entrepreneurship projects in Africa.
