SUMMARY:Maryland Department of Commerce BioHealth Trade Mission to the United Kingdom Midlands
DESCRIPTION:The Maryland Department of Commerce is seeking BioHealth companies with an interest in participating in a Trade Mission to the United Kingdom hosted by British Midlands Engine. This trip will take place  on March 5 – 7\, 2019 to the Midlands area near the city of Birmingham. \n  \nThis Trade Mission will provide an exclusive opportunity to meet with investors\, partners\, customers and economic development agencies in this bustling biotechnology hub in the U.K. One-to-one meetings with relevant companies and tours to the technology hubs in the Midlands will be organized prior to the trip\, as well as other opportunities to experience to the Life Science sector in the region. \n  \nEligible companies will receive £500 ($630) to refund flights and 3 nights of hotel accommodation sponsored by the Midlands Engine. All other transportation and lodging will be covered by the traveling companies. Hotels will be recommended and group rates will be arranged. Companies can also apply for an ExportMD grant to help cover travel expenses. The grant will reimburse companies two-thirds of qualifying expenses (e.g. hotels\, airfare\, marketing materials) up to $5\,000. Please submit applications for ExportMD by January 31\, 2019.
