Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) scientists share their research with the public on Saturday, May 7, 1-4 pm. Enjoy hands-on science activities for all ages and discover important marine research happening at the harbor’s edge. We’ll have:
- Interactive Lab Demonstrations
- Augmented Reality Displays
- Art Exhibits
- And More!
The majority of the event will take place outside, masks are encouraged. For any displays inside, masks may be required.
Scientists at the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) are engaged in groundbreaking research in microbiology, genetics, and biotechnology. They are researching how micro-algae may be used to remove pollutants from smoke stack emissions, how shark immune systems could help us diagnose and treat diseases, and how to grow fish in urban environments as a sustainable solution to food insecurity.
