SUMMARY:Cybersecurity Awareness Training
DESCRIPTION:Virtual program via Google Meet \nCost: Just $100 per person thanks to support from the Maryland Department of Labor’s EARN initiative. \nThe average cost of a cybersecurity breach is over $9M factoring in both direct and residual impact costs. One of the most effective ways to mitigate the risks of these incidents and breaches is cybersecurity awareness training. This training program is being presented by RMI of Maryland’s Strategic Partner\, Maryland MEP\, and is not limited to participation by manufacturing companies. \nParticipants in this Cybersecurity Awareness Training will learn about the basics of cybersecurity\, specifically: \n\nPhishing attacks\nRemovable media\nPasswords and Authentication\nPhysical security\nMobile Device Security\nWorking Remotely\nPublic Wi-Fi\nCloud Security\nSocial Media Use\nInternet and Email Use\nSocial Engineering\nSecurity at Home\n\nParticipants will be actively engaged in breakout exercises and receive pre- and post-exams to test for knowledge\, retention and understanding. \nAt the end of the course\, participants should be able to describe what cybersecurity is\, recognize possible attacks that they may encounter in their day-to-day work\, and take the best first steps to reduce the risk of a security incident or breach when responding to possible attacks. \n
