DESCRIPTION:The Frederick National Lab in partnership with the Hood College Graduate school is pleased to offer a live in-person Project Management Night Out – Seminar & Networking Reception. Dr. Samuel Okpechi will be presenting at the event titled “Project Management: An Essential Pillar for Scientific Breakthroughs in Biomedical Laboratories.” This is a great opportunity to dine\, network and learn about the role of project management in fostering scientific breakthroughs in biomedical laboratories. \nSeminar Description: Project management is a practice that has been in existence for decades. Many colossal projects in history were made possible because of proper and efficient project management practices. Although project management has been practiced for years\, the tools for managing diverse projects are increasingly becoming more modern and cutting edge. Hence\, project management is now much better and more effective due to the many advancements in innovative tools and software applications. The use of project management in technology and business is more widely known but some people might be quick to overlook the fact that major scientific research breakthroughs were powered by effective project management. Therefore\, this presentation will shed light briefly on the historical context of project management and elaborate on the need for proper management in guiding projects to successful completion.
