SUMMARY:In Celebration of Women’s History Month: Closing the Gap in Access to Capital
DESCRIPTION:For entrepreneurs and early stage companies\, raising capital can be challenging. For female entrepreneurs it can be even more challenging as they can experience gender bias in their efforts to be heard and to raise as much capital as their male counterparts. If you’re a woman of color\, the numbers look even worse. \nIn 2020\, healthcare venture fundraising reached $17 billion\, a 57% increase from 2019. However\, overall funding for female-founded startups globally decreased by 27% in 2020\, and while 42% of digital health startups in 2020 had female founders\, women digital health founders were less likely to be venture-backed. \nSo\, what can we do to help ensure our female entrepreneurs are set up to succeed? Join Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS for a panel discussion as we discuss what can be done for female entrepreneurs at the micro and macro level\, discuss potential avenues for capital\, as well as other factors at play\, such as a lack of female mentorship. \nThis webinar will be hosted by Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS @ Washington\, DC\, where doors will be opening this spring. \n
