The Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) opens its doors for a free Open House on Saturday, May 2, 11am – 3pm. Enjoy hands-on science activities for all ages, meet our scientists, and discover important marine research happening throughout the harbor and the Chesapeake Bay! Join us for an unforgettable adventure into marine science and ignite your curiosity!
- Check out the fish and science in a behind-the-scenes tour of our Aquaculture Research Center. Tours are first come first serve with sign-up at the event, spots limited.
- Experience The Ocean Is Aware Suitewith live musicians and CIRCA-IMET Artist-In-Residence Matt Belzer (11:30 & 1:30).
- Meet our marine scientists, and unveil the wonders of the harbor with hands-on experiences using research tools like microscopes and pipettes.
- Enjoy local community partners, food trucks (Fish Net and Quinn’s Ice), and our fun photo area.
- For the first-time ever IMET will also have a raffle, stop by to see what’s being raffled!
